Commercial collection rates

You pay a percentage of what we actually collect, set by the size of the balance: 10% on balances over $500,000, rising to 30% on balances from $1,000 to $2,999. If we collect nothing, you owe nothing.

Minimum balance placed: $1,000. Interest and late fees collected under your terms are passed to you at the same rate. No recovery, no fee: if we collect nothing, you owe nothing. An attorney demand letter is included on unresolved accounts of $2,500+. If you approve a lawsuit: our 10% legal management fee plus the attorney's own contingency (typically 20–33%), quoted in writing before you decide; court costs advanced by you, or by us on qualifying claims. Optional pre-collection letter series: $19 per account. Debtors pay you directly; our fee is invoiced after you've been paid, due within 15 days.

How we compare

Published commercial collection fees in the U.S. typically range from about 15% to 50% of the amount collected, depending on age and balance. Many agencies only quote on request and charge full fees on withdrawn accounts. We publish our rates and let you withdraw untouched accounts for free.

Frequently asked questions

Why do smaller balances cost more?

Collecting a $2,000 invoice takes almost as many calls, letters and skip-tracing hours as collecting a $200,000 one. Tiering by balance keeps small accounts worth working while giving large balances the lowest rates.

Does the age of the debt change the rate?

No. The rate is set by the balance placed. Older debts are still worth placing, but collectability falls fast, from about 94% at 30 days past due to about 27% at one year (Commercial Law League data), so place early.

Are there any upfront fees?

No, for contingency collections. The only charges you may approve in advance are court costs if you choose to sue, and on qualifying claims we can advance those for you.

What happens if the debtor still will not pay?

On unresolved accounts of $2,500 or more, a partner attorney sends a demand on law-firm letterhead at no extra cost. If that fails, we send you a written legal recommendation. If you approve suit, you pay our 10% legal management fee plus the attorney's own contingency (typically 20–33%), both disclosed in writing before you decide.

Will you cover court costs?

On strong claims of $15,000 or more (documented debt, operating debtor, assets located, no real dispute) we can advance court costs ourselves. They are reimbursed only from what is recovered, and our management fee on that file is 15%. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.

What if the debtor pays me directly after placement?

Tell us and we will close the account. Our fee still applies to payments made after placement, as it does at every agency, because our work prompted the payment.

Can I withdraw an account?

Yes. If we have not collected anything within 30 days of placement, you can withdraw with no fee.
